Regional NSW - Northern Tablelands
Jennifer
I’m looking for a house/dog sitter just for 1 night as I need to travel for a meeting and can't get there and back in one day. My flight is early so the dog would be by herself until a sitter arrives, unless you'd like to come the night before. The dog (2.5 year old female bordoodle) will enjoy a long walk and is good on the lead and around other dogs.
If you enjoy mountain air and low humidity, spring is a lovely time to visit the New England area. The house has some passive solar properties so maintains a reasonable temperature. There are a number of national parks close by, as well as plenty of walks around the city. It's a city of culture eg an amazing collection of Australian art at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) and a strong history of education-the University of New England (UNE) was the first regional university in Australia.
There are plenty of cafes, some with very delicious pastries made daily and a couple were you can sit outside with a dog .eg NERAM and Cafe Patisserie.
I have a chocolate bordoodle (approx 11 kgs) who, by then, will be around 2 years old. She is still learning some manners and is very responsive to treats! We are currently doing some regular classes, learning basic commands and socialising around other dogs. She's energetic in bursts (loves to chase a ball/sticks though she's not too good at bringing them back) and needs a daily walk, but also has down time lying in the sun. She is used to company during the day but is also OK with being in the yard for a few hours at a time. She is often inside the house and sleeps in a crate at night.
There is no street parking suitable for a caravan, though it would be possible for a small campervan to park in the driveway.
If you have a small to medium sized dog, that would be OK, though it would be useful for my dog and yours to meet beforehand to see if they are OK together. The back yard is fenced.
