Newport VIC

Hi!

We are heading away for a few weeks over the Christmas break, and we are looking for a house-sitter.

Our house is in Newport, next door to Williamstown in Melbourne. Its a four bedroom house, 2.5km walk to Williamstown Beach or Jawbone Reserve, 1km walk to Newport Train Station and the Newport shops, 3.5km walk to the Williamstown shops and more! At Williamstown Beach and Jawbone Reserve you can snorkel, swim and paddle board. There is also a long off road coastal bike trail that you can easily connect too. Its starts near the Westgate Bridge and goes out to Altona Meadows and beyond. There are lots of great cafes in the area too. Our closest is about 750m away (Elephant) and its pretty tasty! But there are lots in the area and lots of eat in or takeaway restaurants too. Especially in Williamstown.

We have a spare room for our house sitters. It is quite large and includes a double bed and a tv. The front half of our house is old but (mostly) renovated. The back half is a new ish (2017) extension with an open plan kitchen, dining, lounge area and big doors and windows that open wide to make a good indoor-outdoor space.

Our house is opposite the train line and the trains run day and night so if you're sensitive to train noise this may not be the house for you. But aside from that its a pretty quiet area.

We have a nine year old (slightly grouchy) cat (Chester) and a very playful one year old cat (Ruben). They both really just need to be fed twice a day and have their water topped up. We also have a four year old ,friendly, black, golden retriever/lab (Shadow) needs a walk each day and two be fed twice a day. She a covid (puppy) dog so does like company. If looking after Shadow sounds like a bit too much, please do let me know. I can probably arrange for her to stay at our in-laws instead.

We have an old manual car that we use to run around locally. You are welcome to use this car for local run-arounds, so long as you can drive a manual.

We are a super busy household so I may be a bit slow replying to your messages. But rest-assured I will get back to you eventually, it just might take a week or so.
