We need a house sitter

Hunter Valley - Upper Hunter Valley

Isabelle

🌲Long weekend in the country🌲

I am looking for someone to housesit for us in our little village in the Upper Hunter Valley.
Gundy is a small township 15 minutes outside of Scone, NSW- with a welcoming and relaxed feel.

Our house is on the edge of town and is quiet and tidy, if not overly fancy. We have Netflix etc, wifi and aircon/heating. There is a room with a queen bed and also a room with a king single (small families are welcome). The local town has a corner store and also a very popular pub within walking distance.

For summer there is a local swimming hole at the river that runs through town. In winter you can take your 4WD up to the Barrington Tops to see the snow.

It's only 15 minutes to Scone which has supermarkets, shops, cafes and a town pool, and 30 minutes away in Muswellbrook there are shopping centres and a cinema.

There are a lot of local tourist trails around the Barrington Tops both for hiking, MTB and 4WDriving. Gundy has lots of quiet roads with great views for walking, and even has its own MTB trails.

Glenbawn dam is close by and is popular for swimming, water skiing, fishing and paddle boarding. The famous hunter valley wineries and restaurants are only about 1.5 hours away. It's about 2 hours to Newcastle and under 2 hours to Tamworth.

There are a few animals to take care of but it's all very straight forward and won't take much time out of the day. I have one senior (and very friendly) Sheltie, a cat you will probably hardly see and a small parrot (with a big attitude), as well as a few chooks.

It's a great little area to spend some time and has a great atmosphere and friendly locals. Get out of the city and come and explore the country for your summer break.

I thoroughly enjoyed my pet sit at Isabelle’s home in a quiet rural setting in the amazing Hunter Valley. Isabelle is very welcoming and the communication was great and written instructions straightforward. The daily long hikes with the young, athletic, sweet Rocky across the valleys and around ridge lines were so enjoyable and bonding for both of us. Fergus the senior dog, the cat, the bird are so loveable and affectionate. The beautiful chickens were easy to look after. Happy to come back 😊

ANDREA (Jul 2024 - 4 nights)
Lovely little stay in a beautiful setting with some amazing fluffy companions. We’re going to miss them! Isabelle was very responsive and her instructions were clear. Thanks for having us :)

ERIN & LUKE (Jul 2024 - 6 nights)
Isabelle has a lovely, cozy home in the beautiful country. We felt very safe and comfortable there. Rocky was a blast to explore the area with. Fergus is the sweetest boy who loves pets. Fae is an absolute sweetheart, and jasper runs the house as you’ll soon find out! He is such a character and I fell in love with him very quickly. Overall we throughly enjoyed looking after Isabelle’s home and lovely pets! Thank you for welcoming us into your home!

HAILEY & SHAE (Jun 2024 - 1 week 3 nights)
Thanks guys. Also just wanted to say your house and pet care was 5 star bit for some reason it has not come up on my review.
We had such a lovely sit at Isabelles. Everything was easy to understand, with all the information we needed. Lovely little country town. The animals had awesome personalities. I even broke my fear of holding birds, after a few hours I had jasper on my shoulder, even sharing kisses. Would love to housesit again. Thanks

JASAMINE & MITCHELL (Apr 2024 - 5 nights)
Gundy is a lovely country town near Scone and we enjoyed our stay caring for Rocky (very excitable and affectionate little girl), Fergus (sweet older boy) and Jasper (king of the house). We also had eggs every day from the 7 chickens. The house had air conditioning (it was hot weather) and we had a comfortable bed to sleep in. The local area is very picturesque and close to the Barrington National park. Isabella was clear and concise with her instructions and we were able to position our ... MORE

STEVE (Jan 2024 - 1 week 2 nights)
Thank you, Isabelle! Your home was just the rural, peaceful retreat we were looking for. The animals were absolutely lovely and no trouble at all to look after. The chooks kindly gifted us with fresh eggs each day. Jasper was a sassy delight - we now realise exactly who rules the house. Thank you for being so accommodating and helpful, particularly for recommendations to do and see in the local area. The Washpools were a beautiful oasis and Barrington Tops were breathtaking - both a must ... MORE

ABBEY (Nov 2023 - 6 nights)
Hi House sitters, I just finished a 9 day house sit for Isabelle at Gundy in the Berrington Tops in NSW, Isabelle is a very nice person and easy going, I looked after a dog a bird and 7 chooks. all easy to look after. The Berrington Tops is a big national Park, with lots to see, including some magic Lookouts. I enjoyed the house sit very much and would love to do it again. Thank you Isabelle. Regards Leo.

LEO (Sep 2023 - 1 week 1 night)
Our stay at Isabelle and Simon's farm was lovely. Instructions for their numerous animals regarding feeding and care was well prepared and easy to follow. The animals themselves were a delight and we were readily accepted as caretakers while their human parents were away. All up an easy sit and we would jump at the chance to farm sit for them again, should the need arise.

ROBIN (Feb 2020 - 5 days)
Isabelle's communication and written instructions were amazing.... we were able to follow the directions for feeding the different animals, understand the use of items in the house and utilise the many 'tourist tips' for the area. We really enjoyed exploring the historic pubs/towns and the friendly locals .... beautiful walks/drives to the National Parks, river swims, nearby recreational dam, a trip to the wineries, cinema and great restaurants. But the best part were the gorgeous animals each ... MORE

JANINE (Dec 2019 - 1 week 6 days)
Isabell and Simons horse property was wonderful, the house was comfy and we fell in love with their dogs. There is a lot to see in this region and great coffee shops. The Vet and the horses taught us a lot about managing such a large property, they are very hospitable and room for a caravan , if needed.

ROBERT (Sep 2019 - 10 days)
