THE LISTING:
Looking for a house sitter(s) while we are away for 6 weeks to keep an eye on the place, maintain our yard and look after our beloved 5 year old German shepherd x husky dog, Luna. Would suit an individual or couple.
THE HOUSE & LOCAL AREA:
We live in a small (90 sqm) 3 bed 1 bath 1950s cottage opposite Bicentennial Park West Pymble which includes a large oval, dog park and walking trails. The house is a short 5 min walk to local shops (cafes, IGA, newsagent etc) and Kuringgai fitness and aquatic centre which has a gym and large outdoor pool. We're about a 5 min drive from Macquarie shopping centre.
TRANSPORT:
One off-street parking space is available behind our car in our driveway. If planning to take public transport, the bus stop out the front takes you to Gordon train station (560 Bus). You can catch the 572 Bus from the bus stop 250m away on the opposite side of the road near the BP petrol station to go to Macquarie Shopping Centre, or connect to the Macquarie Uni Metro Station (alight at Macquarie Shopping Centre).
PET CARE:
Expectations for looking after our dog are to feed her once per day after exercise, keep her water bowl topped up, keep her company and walk her at least once a day for an hour. She is easy going, loves people yet enjoys her independence and tends to chill during the day. She doesn't tend to bark but as a husky her talkative nature comes out sometimes! We've never seen her howl at sirens etc so overall a fairly quiet and independent pooch. Please note she's an indoor dog and can get into and out of the house via the doggy door at the back so no need to let her out to go to the toilet etc.
HOUSE & GARDEN CARE:
In general, we ask that the house is kept clean and tidy. Being half husky, Luna is prone to shedding particularly during the warmer months so vacuuming and mopping the floors once per week is usually required. Expectations for garden maintenance is to give indoor plants a light watering once per week, water the veggie patch once per week and mow the front and back lawns once per fortnight. This is important as the lawn tends to grow quickly in the summer.
