Travel on a shoestring
House sitting is a fun, immersive way to experience this magnificent country - without paying a cent for accommodation!

Housesit required to care for our adequately sized home, on 6 acre bush block.
Situated 8 minutes from Toodyay town centre, home is surrounded by tall Wandoo Gums and wildflowers, with wrap around wooden deck to soak in the evening sun setting over our delightful valley views. No shortage of bird and wildlife watching, local blue wrens, bob tails, and kangaroos are common visitors...
But, if you tire of the native wildlife, we have our fur family members, dog Padfoot 'Paddy' and cat 'Millie', who are always up for some company.
Paddy's a cross breed, we believe him to be staffy ridgeback combo, medium size. He lives outside, is secured and is what I'd call an easy no fuss dude. Loves time spent outside with any human who will indulge his hyperfixation on fetching toys.
Millie is our Maine Coon, inside only, also pretty chilled aside from evening cat zoomies and believing she has an all access pass to every counter top in the house (she doesn't). She sleeps in the laundry and sometimes puts herself to bed in there if she feels I'm behind in carrying out her schedule.
Neither pets have any special requirements or health issues.
Garden care is minimal, just a water of potted plants on the deck - All succulents so suited to the warmer weather.
There's no mailbox so won't need to collect mail.
Neighbouring homes can be seen through the trees but you won't hear anything other than the birds, very peaceful location.
We're a 45 to 50 minute drive to Midland, 8 minutes to Toodyay - Where you'll find the Coke Cafe, variety of local tourist type shops, op shop, IGA, Toodyay bakery etc. Northam is 30 minutes by car, and a little further out, we have surrounding Wheatbelt towns York, Beverley and beyond...Great spot to be based to explore surrounding walk trails, nature destinations i.e. Noble Falls.
Would love to hear from those who feel this would be a good fit for them.
Kind regards,
Vivienne.
