We need a house sitter

Adelaide - Adelaide Hills

Ben

Welcome to Eden Valley the jewel in the crown of the Barossa Valley. We are situated only 1 hour and 15 minutes drive North of Adelaide.

We would prefer a couple to stay and house sit at our place as we only have one queen size bed and one bedroom in the cottage where you will be staying.

We are flexible with dates, if your availability doesn't match ours please get in contact and we may be able to accommodate you.

Our house is located between Angaston and Eden Valley in the beautiful Barossa Valley on a 80 acre property. The farm house and cottage were built in the 1930's. The accommodation is located in the cottage next to the main house and sleeps 2 adults in a queen size bed. With a wood fire to keep the cottage warm and cosy in the winter and a stunning view out over the property you will love the charm of this rural setting. Our property is only 10 to 15 minutes drive from some of Australia's most famous wine producers and restaurants making our farm the ideal base to explore the Barossa Valley.

Animals to look after:

We have 12 chickens and 10 geese that need to be locked up at sunset each night (so the foxes don't eat them) and let out in the morning . We also have 1 cat that needs to be fed at least 2 x per day and 1 ponie and 1 horses that need to be looked after.

If you love peace and quiet and looking after animals this is the place for you. Thank you for considering our property and animals to "house/farm sit". We hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
Ben and Gill

My experience at Eden Valley was special. Something about being on 80acres all to yourself I guess. Such an Idyllic location right in the heart of the Barossa. Tanunda & Angaston are experiences in themselves. If you love wine & cheese you will be in heaven. With the beautiful Adelaide Hills only an hour away, there is always something or somewhere to visit. Horses were beautiful, loved the geese & Isla's chickens. Rarely saw Midu the cat. Feeding in morning & night, didn't take long at ... MORE

NARELLE (Dec 2023 - 4 weeks)
Kara and I had a great time house sitting for Ben and Gill at Eden Valley. The communication and information provided to us was clear and easy to follow with written instructions for taking care of all the animals. Their property is so peaceful and inviting, as well as historic, a really great spot to unwind and base ourselves while visiting family in the area. We enjoyed looking after all the animals, especially Lachie, who was our favorite of the 3 horses. We would thoroughly recommend this ... MORE

GERARD (Dec 2022 - 4 weeks)
Ben & his charming family were friendly, hospitable & very easy to communicate with from the beginning. The animals were well trained, obedient & all relevant information on their special needs written down. The cottage offered was clean & extremely comfortable. Living in such a beautiful part of S.A. we had ample time to see the sights. Serenity plus.

HELEN & MALCOLM (Dec 2020 - 4 weeks)
This House/ Farm sit was an absolute pleasure to do. Ben was great to deal with and Gill and Isla were lovely. This property is picturesque with a couple of vineyards and 80 acres, and very quiet which was a great way to spend the festive season and beyond. The chickens and geese were easy to take care of and Oscar the illusive cat was no trouble as we rarely saw him. Would gladly do this sit again if we are available.

GRAEME (Dec 2019 - 7 weeks)
Graeme and Juilie were the perfect fit to look after our House/farm. From day 1 the communication was fantastic and we were kept informed of what was going on with the animals and farm. With such a hot dry summer they did a great job keeping the vineyard, grass, pot plants and animals alive while ... MORE
We had the best time at Ben's place! The amount of pet care we had to do was minimal, just brief morning and evening chores for the cats, chickens, and geese, and we had most of each day to explore their property or the beautiful area, or just to relax by the fire. They even surprised us with vegan treats to enjoy during our time there! The historic cottage is really cozy and well furnished. Our time there felt like something out of a novel. Thanks for having us house sit for you!
