We need a house sitter

Sydney - Sutherland

Elle

Hello Sitters,

I’m seeking a reliable house sitter for my home and adorable 1 year old puppy, August, and giving some attention to a few plants. from 14th to 25th January 2025 (dates may shift slightly on each end; TBC).

Home Details:
Location: Revesby Heights, a quiet and peaceful neighborhood in Sydney's southwest.
House: 3-bedroom home with ample natural light, a large open kitchen, and spacious living areas.
Master Bedroom: Super King bed ensuite bathroom
Guest Room: Single day bed, recliner bookshelf and work desk (Sitter to stay here)
Gym/Fitness Room: Equipped for workouts (Sitter welcome to use)
Living Spaces: Lounge room, TV room with Netflix, and fast Wi-Fi (Password provided)
Temperature Control: Reverse cycle heating/air conditioning in living areas and bedrooms
Bathrooms: Two newly renovated bathrooms (En-suite + main with bathtub)

About August: Breed & Age: One year old puppy Spoodle (Cocker Spaniel-Poodle), very friendly and affectionate!

Routine:
Feeding:
He must ring the floor bell before his meals
Morning: 8:00-9:00 am: Kibble with wet topper or oils/water
Evening: 5:30-7:00 pm: cooked meals of beef and rice mixed with small handful of kibble and water (food provided/ frozen may require defrost night before)
Snacks: Raw bones for chewing. Treats provided or steamed chicken only, due to his sensitive stomach.

Groom: Must be brushed outside to remove bindies and avoid matting. He is hypoallergenic so should not shed just removal of puppy fur.

Exercise:
Morning: 15-30 min morning walk around the block.
Afternoon; 30- 40 min walk or play time session.
Evening: Plays on his own with his toys around the home. He may ask you to play tug or fetch with him however his very independent.

Social Time: Enjoys scratches, cuddles, and games of tug or fetch!

Sleeping Arrangements: August usually sleeps in my room, but he can also stay in his pen overnight if
preferred.

House Manners:
Please keep bedroom doors closed, as August has free roam of the house (minor
supervision is sufficient).
When coming in from outside walks/plays, he’s trained to go to “place” and sit by the door for a paw wipe and collar removal, then waits for the "free" command to move and a treat.

Training & Mental Stimulation:
August is well-behaved and independent but benefits from some daily mental stimulation. He knows obedience and trick commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “down,” “come/close,” “touch bell & free” for meals, “fetch,” "tug", “roll,” “give,” “paw/other paw,” “leave it” "drop", "on/off", "inside/outside", "bed/sleepy-time", "place", "touch", "back", "roll", "jump", "sit pretty", "chin", "kiss".

Treats for training or good behavior are in the glass jars on the bench. For distractions, he can be given a bone if he fixates or over-chews toys. For rare boundary-testing, redirect him to a bone and say "time out" as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:
Plant Care: Water indoor plants in the evening or early morning before sun is out if pots are very dry, (rarely needed indoors) and collect any hazardous leaves or twigs in the backyard so August doesn’t chew on them.
Respectful Presence: My home is in a quiet neighborhood, so please be mindful of noise.

Requirements: Pre-Stay Check-In: I’d love to FaceTime or meet you before the stay.

If you’re interested in this opportunity to care for August and enjoy a comfortable stay in our home, please reach out!
